It’s no secret that the world can seem pretty dismal at times. That may be one of the reasons you’re interested in spreading more kindness. I commend you for that! It’s noble to take the time and effort to put goodness out into the world. It can also be difficult to find the motivation to do that when things are looking grim. One of the best ways I’ve found to counter this feeling of despair is to take care to notice the kindness of others around you. Doing so can quickly lift your mood and improve your outlook. Let’s discover some places to find the kindness you seek.

In Your Circles

The most obvious place to look for good things is in your everyday life. Pay attention to the people in your circles. This is where you’ll discover who might be in need of some generosity and uplifting words. It’s also where you’ll find examples of goodness close to home. Surely, the folks you encounter every day are among those doing great things in the world. Don’t hesitate to praise them for their actions. They’re probably also a good source of information if you want suggestions of where to direct your efforts toward giving.

On the Internet

They say you can find anything on the internet, and it’s pretty much true. You’ll definitely find amazing acts of giving and selflessness online. You can do a Google search for examples of kindness, and you’ll surely come across a wealth of inspirational reading material. Take a look at your online social networks, as well. Perhaps your Facebook friends or members of a forum are demonstrating ways in which they’re contributing compassion to the world around them. If you feel you’re lacking for inspiration within your virtual circles, join groups of people with common interest. When you expand your social network in this way, you’ll be exposing yourself to plenty of opportunities for education and inspiration.

In the World

You can also look further than your own contacts for people who are doing great things. Ask around. People you do know can likely point you in the direction of folks within their network who can be fabulous kindness role models. Read books on history’s givers. A biographical account of someone’s inspiring life might be just the thing to help move you out of a slump. There are plenty of ways to find kindness when you actively search for it.

So, even when you’re feeling down or in despair, try not to forget that all is not lost. You can usually lift your spirits just by taking the time to be aware of the activity of those around you. Pay attention, and you’ll find kindness.
